Stepping In - Excerpt

It has been so long since I have posted anything I apologize for that.  I am sure most of you know how busy life can get with kids 😜

I have been working hard on Jemma and Phin's story entitled Stepping In (releasing at the end of May if all goes well) Here is an excerpt from their story.  The entire gang has taken a trip to Vegas to blow off steam. Phin has been trying to rope in Jemma since the death of her mother.  Keeping her from making a mistake has proven to be a huge undertaking until a brilliant plan pops into his head at the club...this is the next morning.  Enjoy!

Jemma groaned as she rolled over. She attempted to open her eyes only to discover that the small amount of light in the room hurt far too much.  Grabbing a pillow she buried her head beneath it.  Dear God, I promise to never drink again if you make the bed stop spinning.  Jemma prayed.
Just as she was starting to fade back into sleep, a snore sounded next to her.  Slowly she slid her hand over to the other side of the bed.  Within a few seconds, her hand hit hard muscle; hard male muscle.  Desperately she tried to push through the fog that was her brain and remember the night before.  Nothing.  Her mind was a blank from the time she yelled at Phin before walking off with another man until now.  Did the hard chest she was caressing mindlessly belong to the man she danced with?
She tried to smile at the thought that she had brought the handsome stranger back to her hotel room – she hoped it was her hotel room and not his – but the smile would not come.  She didn’t want some random stranger she wanted Phin.  Maybe she could slip out of bed and into the shower and when she got out the stranger would be gone and she could pretend she didn’t just have sex with some random stranger.
Although now that her brain was starting to wake up a bit she realized that she was still completely dressed, panties and all.  And the hand still stoking the stranger’s chest was not met with the feel of skin.  No, she felt cotton beneath her hands.  So that meant no sex?  She did not even think they had a heavy make out season since her lips did not feel swollen? Maybe they came back to the room with every intentions of screwing around but passed out first?
“Are you going to keep petting me or are you going to let me go back to sleep?”  A familiar masculine voice asked.
Jemma threw the pillow to the floor and bolted to sitting position.  “Phin?”  She gasped. “Ouch!”  She grabbed her head in both of her hands; sitting up so fast was not a good idea when one had the hangover to end all hangovers.
“Let me grab you some Tylenol and some water.”  Phin said sweetly.  He returned a moment later handing her the pills and the water.  “After you’ve showered and are feeling a little more human, we…,” he looked down to the floor, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand, “we need to talk.”
Talk?  Damn it, if I slept with Phin and don’t remember it I am going to have to kick my own ass.  “Ok.” Jemma squeaked out.
Needing answers to what the hell happened last night – yet still needing to jump start her brain and body - she rushed to the bathroom.  Turning on the water in the shower she took a minute to breathe.  Placing her hands on the counter, she closed her eyes to stop the room and her mind from spinning out of control; she suddenly noticed a piece of jewelry on her left hand.
“Phin!”  She screamed.
A minute later the bathroom door flew open, Phin looking panicked.  “Are you ok?”  His eyes touched every part of her body in search of an injury.  She was equal parts grateful and disappointed she still had her clothing on.
“I’m fine.  Can you please explain to me why I have a wedding ring on?”  She bit out, holding up the hand with the offending piece of jewelry. Again he rubbed his neck, looking passed her instead of at her.  Having no memory of the night before and worrying she had done something incredibly stupid, patience was not a virtue she had at the moment.  “Phin, answer the question.”
Giving her his best innocent boy smile, he simply held up his left hand in response.  She choked a little in response and stumbled back until her butt hit the counter.  “We’re mar…married?”  She stuttered.
“For better or worse, baby.  Take your shower, I’ll order room service and fill in the blanks in your memory.”  Phin replied, leaving the bathroom with no other explanation.
“Shower? Breakfast?  No, you’ll explain now!”  She yelled as she stocked after him.  He was already him sitting casually at the small desk in the corner of the room perusing the room service menu as though he hadn’t just completely flipped her life upside down.  This right here, made her understand why Izzy was always threatening to kill her husband.  Men are all insane.
Glancing at his watch he grimaced. “Actually we will have to grab a bagel or something on the way to the airport, we only have enough time to pack.  You go back to your room and pack, I’ll get my stuff together and we can head to the lobby to meet up with everyone to go to the airport.”  Phin announced, closing the menu he stood grabbing his luggage from the closet, and he started to pack.  Again he was far calmer than she was.
“Our friends can wait.”  She insisted.
“The plane won’t.”  He walked casually over to her and placed his hands on either side of her face and kissed her forehead.  “Everything is going to be fine.”
“It is a private plane! Derek will make them wait for us.  Especially when he finds out that we were late because you had to explain to me why I woke up married to you!”  Jemma’s patience was gone and she was now yelling at the top of her lungs.
With a resolved sigh, Phin collapsed onto the bed behind him.  Pulling his phone from his pocket he hit a few buttons and placed the device to his ear.  With his eyes locked on Jemma he spoke once the other person answered.  “Derek, can you hold the plane for thirty minutes?”  He paused for an answer.  “No, no everything is fine.  Jemma and I had a late night of drinking and have some issues come up that we need to discuss.”  He paused again.  This time he was shaking his head as though Derek could see him.  “Calm down. Jesus.  Not like those types of issues. I will explain everything as soon as we are on the plane.”  Again he paused.  Jemma wanted to rip the phone out of his hands and stomp on the damn thing.  “Got it, see you there.  Thanks man.”  Finally he put down the phone.
“Jemma, come sit.”  She scowled at him; he grimaced and added, “Please?”
Shaking with anger and need to understand, Jemma sat.  “Ok, I’m sitting now talk.  Were we drunk and just made a mistake?”
“You were drunk and I…I took advantage of that fact to get you to marry me.”  At least he had the courtesy to look embarrassed for his actions.
Jemma’s mind was unable to catch up with the rapid changes he was causing in her life.   “I…I don’t understand.  Why would you need to trick me into marrying you?”
Turning toward her, Phin took both of Jemma’s hands in his.  His eyes were a brighter shade of green than she had ever seen them being before, telling her how serious he was at the moment.  “When your mom died, and you started showing up at work with pink hair and miniskirts no one said a thing.  We all knew you were grieving so deeply that you were searching for something to make you whole again.”
Phin paused, watching his thumb run over her knuckles intently.  “I still don’t understand what me trying to find myself after my mother’s death has to do with why you married me.”
His eyes met hers again, an angry fire seeming to burn within the vast green.  “You started to change. You have been acting as though you were some college girl out to have a good time instead of the woman who believes in true love.”
“So?  I was trying to let go, relax a little for a change.  My mother told me to go enjoy my life before she died so I was trying to have some fun, break out of my shell.”  She explained quietly.  “Nothing that you boys haven’t been doing for the past oh I don’t know a decade!”  She added with a scowl.
“You can’t honestly believe that your mother’s version of you having fun would include you sleeping with some random asshole who doesn’t give a shit about you? And it’s different for us guys; we have no morals.”  He tried to laugh.  “You’re a good person and would have regretted any and all random bar hook ups you had. You were on a destructive path, so I stepped in the way.  I know you won’t break your marriage vows, which means no regretful one night stands.”
There was no way Jemma had heard him correctly.  He married her to protect her?  Not what a girl wants to hear on the morning after her wedding.  Marriage was supposed to be about love and respect, with a healthy dose of lust thrown in for good measure.  Marriage was not about some act of chivalry.  As she continued to attempt to wrap her brain around the situation, Phin stood and pulled his bag out of the closet.
"So you married me to keep me from having sex with some random bar guy?"
"Yep." He didn't even look at her as he spoke the one word answer.  His attention was squarely on packing.
“So if we are married, why did I wake up with my clothes on?  Don’t most couples make love on their wedding night?”  Jemma pondered out loud.
Sighing, he looked up at her before quickly turning his attention back to his packing.  “We won’t be having sex.  We will have a marriage based on friendship.  No sex, no kissing.  You and I have far different experience levels when it comes to sex.  I don’t want to take advantage of your innocence.”
"So you won't sleep me with because we are friends and I am too innocent?"
"Yep." Again with the one word answers! She was about to stuff her new husband into the small overnight bag he seemed so fixated on.
"So you plan to what 'love, honor and cherish' me until death do us part; while never having sex with me or another woman?" She was pacing the hotel room now, her frustration with the stupid man bubbling over.
"Yep."
That was the last straw. Marching over to the bed, she slammed the small suite case, almost catching his fingers in the lid in the process. Dragging in a deep breath, Jemma used all of the patience she had left to get out the next few sentences. "Phin, not to be a bitch, but you my dear husband," the word felt like acid on her tongue, "are the king of the manwhores. You cannot actually believe you can be happily married to your friend and never having sex again? You love sex! You love women.  I have never seen you go more than a few days without finding some girl to fill your bed for the night.  Please let's just get an annulment and have a good laugh over this crazy situation." Her eyes were large and pleading. No woman wanted to be married to a man who had zero sexual attraction to her. She wanted what Roni and Izzy had, a man who loved her with every bone in his body.
Phin stood in front of her, arms crossed and an indiscernible look on his face. He tilted his head one way then the other. He walked to the closet and pulled out his garment bag with his suit, zipped it up and went into the bathroom, without a word. She could hear him collecting his things. She was sure she had finally gotten through his thick skull. He was realizing he would never have sex again if they stayed married. It broke her heart and made her want to cry that he didn't find her attractive enough to screw.
He returned a moment later, with his toiletries bag.  “I am not giving you an annulment and before you even think it, I won’t divorce you either.  Don’t worry about me; sex isn’t a priority you are.  Now you better get your ass packed I won’t ask Derek to hold the plane again. I’ll meet you in the lobby in 15 minutes.”
With a hard glare at her new husband she stomped out of the room slamming the door behind her.

Happy 2015!

I can't believe that Christmas and 2014 are behind us. What an incredible year it was for me, finally living out one of my bucket list items to write a novel.

Every time I read a review -even bad ones- I am excited, only because it means one more person took the time to read my book.

I will admit that my blog entries have fallen off over the last few months. I am better at getting a quick tweet out than I am at sitting down to write a blog entry :)

I have began working on Jemma and Phin's story.  This one has come with its own challenges; as I have so many good plot or scene ideas.  To many in fact. The outline has been written and rewritten. I hope to have the first chapter posted soon.  Unfortunately, I have been writing this book a little backwards and have not written the first chapter.

I truly appreciate every one of you who took the time to read my books and follow my blog and tweets!  You are the best!

Enjoy your first weekend of 2015!

Frenemies With Benefits - Chapter One

Happy Saturday to everyone!  I hope everyone had a fun Halloween.  My boys had a great evening dressing up as a Zombie Hunter and Steve from Minecraft ( a video game all the kids play).

With Halloween behind us I think it is time to start the Christmas shopping.  I actually saw one HOA in town already putting up Christmas lights this morning, which is over kill to say the least.

As promised, below is the first chapter of Frenemies With Benefits, due out mid November.

Enjoy!

Frenemies With Benefits

Chapter One
Izzy sat in the corner of the noisy club.  Her feet were killing her from the stupid heels, her friends had insisted that she wear.  She slid the strappy stiletto off and moaned from the pleasure of her feet being freed.  She rubbed her foot and scanned the room.
The club was big and flashy.  All the men were in dress pants and button down shirts and all the woman wore barely there dresses.  The music was thumping loud.  Her head pounded along with the beat.  She usually loved clubs, however, this was the third club they had been to tonight.  It was nearly three in the morning and she was beyond done.
Spring break or not she wanted to go back to the hotel and sleep. Unfortunately, her friends, Roni and Gracey, were having too good of a time to even think of going to bed. Well, at least too much fun to go to bed alone.
Gracey had come on this last spring break trip for the sole reason to get laid.  She was on a mission to slut it up one more time before she had, to ‘become a real adult’.  Roni on the other hand only wanted to find a guy to bump and grind with on the dance floor.  And maybe a romantic walk on the beach.  As for Izzy, all she wanted was to get a tan and hang out with her best friends.
Izzy slowly lets out a breath, rolling her head to stretch her neck, she closed her eyes.  “Mind if I have a seat?”  A deep voice asked from behind her.  She opened her eyes turning to the voice.  Her jaw dropped when she saw the man that stood before her.  Standing there was a Viking god.  Short spiked dirty blond hair and striking green eyes.  He had to be at least 6’5”, compared to her 5’1” stature he was a giant.  His muscles were visible through his dress shirt.  Which was unbuttoned at the collar, with the cuffs rolled up.  Her pulse had instantly picked up.
He coughed and nodded toward the chair.  Izzy had been busted checking him out.  “Sorry, yes, please have a seat.”
“Thanks, this is the only empty seat in this place.  I figured we were in the same boat so maybe you would be amicable to my plight.”  The Viking god mused, totally confusing Izzy. He nodded at her shoes.  “Your shoes, my feet are killing me too.  I was ready to go an hour ago, but my buddy thought he saw the love of his life when a girl walked by.  He went chasing after her.”
The Viking rolled his eyes at his friend’s antics and she laughed, why she had no idea, it wasn't even that funny.  “Well, I was ready to leave two hours ago but my friends have decided that more liquor and bad pick lines were a good enough reason to stay.”  She smiled at the man and went back to rubbing her feet.
The waitress sashayed her way over to their table, eyeing her new found friend the entire time.  Funny the waitress could have cared less about Izzy before the Viking came over.  Izzy noticed the waitress was arching her back so her boobs stuck out more.  She snorted a little and shook her head, turning her attention back to her feet.
“May I get you anything?”  The waitress purred in her sexy accent.
The man smiled.  “Why yes, can you get my wife and me each a coke and maybe a bag of ice?”  He took Izzy’s foot and started to rub it.  “Anything else, honey?”
Izzy smiled, a real smile, at his craziness. “No, baby.”  She turned her smile on the waitress, whose shoulders had visibly slumped at the realization her target was ‘married’.
“I’ll be right back.”  The waitress walked away, no sway in her step this time.
When the waitress was out of view, Izzy shot her new ‘husband’ a look of amusement and curiosity.  “Sorry, thanks for helping.  We were here last night and she came on to my friend with extreme force.  The poor guy is still recovering. I didn't want to deal with that.  And I figured you get a foot message out of it.”  He winked.
She smiled.  “So I was your human shield?”
“A human shield I am paying back with a fantastic foot rub.”  He pushed his knuckle down her foot, almost causing her to moan.
“Fantastic, may be stretching it, but I guess that is payment enough.  I should tell you my name though, you know, since I’m your wife and all.  I’m Isabella Newport, my friends and make believe husbands, call me Izzy.”
~*~*~*~
“Well, I think you have your name wrong.  It's Izzy Porter.”  Alex smiled big.  This girl was fun and smart. Something he rarely found. “I insist my wife take my last name.  I am a little old fashion that way.  “I’m Jeremy Porter.”
Alex hated lying about his name, but now that he was the CFO of a high profile company he had learned that lying about his identity to someone he had only just met was the best play.  If someone Googled ‘Jeremy Porter’ nothing would come up.  If someone Googled Alex Porter on the other hand, his entire life now came up including his massive net worth.
They sat quietly for a few moments.  Her naturally curly hair was attempting to free itself from the twisted knot thing she had it in.  He looked his fill, not his usual type that was for sure.  She was a tiny thing.  He could twirl her around in the air with his pinkie.  The lights of the club bounced off her glasses.
Normally he would never have noticed a pixie bookworm like herself.  Something about her, the moment he saw her sitting alone, drew him to her.
“I think I need to know more about my dear husband.  Where are you from Jeremy?”  She asked with a smirk.
“I am so disappointed, my own wife doesn't remember I am from Colorado.”
“Really?  Me too.  What part?”
Well, shit!  That complicated his random vacation hook up.  “Denver, I grew up in the suburbs.  Now I live downtown. Where about in Colorado are you from?”  Please say Durango, Vail, anywhere but Denver.
“I am living in Boulder right now.  I have a couple more months before I graduate from the University of Colorado.  My girlfriend and I are moving down to Denver after graduation, though.”  She shrugged.
The waitress finally dropped off the cokes and ice pack.  Alex handed the waitress $50 to cover the cokes and a nice tip.  He took the ice pack, covered it in a napkin and ran it along Izzy’s foot.
“Oh, that feels good.”  She moaned.
He had to take a deep breath after hearing that sound.  He would love to hear it later tonight, in his bed.  He cleared his throat.  “Are your feet feeling better, my dear wife?”  He needed to go back to being the jokester to clear the lust out of the air.
“Yes, my darling husband you give great foot rubs. I think we should…”
He leaned into her desperately wanting to hear the end of that sentence. “Dude, I have been looking all over for you. Let’s go.  That girl I was looking for turned around too fast at the bar and spilled her fruity red drink all over me.  Now I look as though I have been shot.”  Derek stated as he walked up to the table still rubbing a napkin on his shirt.  “Oh, sorry, I didn’t see your friend. I will find my way back to our hotel.  Night.”
Derek was his best friend in the world, but the guy had no tact.  Luckily for Alex his friend at least knew when to leave quickly.  He turned to Izzy to apologize, only to see her laughing.  “What’s so funny?”
“I think it was my friend who spilled her drink on yours.  She has a habit of spilling drinks, tripping, burning dinners, she is the definition of clumsy.”  She started laughing again.  Not the well-practiced high pitched laugh, he normally heard from women.  Her laugh was natural, goofy even.  Which made him smile.
“Seriously?  Your friend is some kind of walking disaster zone?  Does she have a warning label taped to her?”
She laughed again, this time snorting a little.  “No, but that is a good idea it would save innocent people like your friend.”
They sat and talked for another hour or so.  Talking about nothing and everything.  He rubbed and iced her feet.  She yawned.  “As much as I have enjoyed being your wife, I think it is time for a divorce.  I need to find my friends and get some sleep.”  She put her shoes back on and stood. “It was very nice meeting you Jeremy.”  With a big smile and a small finger wave she started to walk away.
Alex’s mind panicked.  He wasn't ready to let her go.  Before he could think it through he blurted out, “Can I see you again while you’re here?”  He winced at how desperate he sounded.
Izzy stopped and smiled.  “How about dinner, tomorrow night?  I am staying at the Bahia Hotel.  Meet me in the lobby at seven.”  She kissed his cheek and disappeared into the crowd.
~*~*~*~
Normal everyday Izzy would never be standing in a hotel lobby- dressed in a short white and pink sundress that dipped way too far down her cleavage - waiting to meet a man for dinner she had met less than twelve hours earlier.  Vacation Izzy decided to have a little fun.  She had promised her friends she would not leave the resort with Jeremy under any circumstances.
They would dine in one of the resort restaurants, and if that went well they would have drinks in one of the clubs.  Again, she wasn't being stupid, she wanted have a little fun, not get herself murdered by a handsome stranger.  She leaned back against one of the columns in the lobby, watching the doors for Jeremy.
She startled and turned when someone placed a large hand on her shoulder.  She saw the man she had been waiting for.  He looked delicious in a suit, minus the tie.  The collar of his white dress shirt was open as it was last night, exposing the hollow of his throat.  She resisted the overwhelming urge to lick him there.  "You scared me."
"Sorry."  He smiled sheepishly, "I'm staying at the resort as well.  I came from the elevators."  He nodded his head back toward the elevator bay. His eyes caressed her body.  "You look incredible."
His comment warmed her heart.  "Thank you, you look good yourself."
He kissed her cheek, a playful look crossing his face.  "How was your day, wifey?"
Izzy giggled.  Placing her hands on his chest, she smiled up at him.  "It was wonderful.  I got to take a run on the beach.  How was your day, dear husband?"
"Ah, you’re a runner?  Me too.  Much easier at sea level.  Maybe we can do a run together tomorrow." He glanced at his watch, "I made reservations for us at the patio restaurant in the hotel"
He placed his hand on the small of her back and led her through the lobby to the restaurant.  He kept his hand on her until they were at the table. He pulled her chair out and waited for her to be seated before seating himself.  Someone had trained this man well in manners.
They talked and laughed while they ate.  They made fun of the goofy couples around them, who were actually on honeymoons.  They shared a childish sense of humor.  Izzy had to admit that this had been the best date she had been on ever.  They clicked.
He was digging into his dessert.  She had no idea how the man could eat another bite, but he seemed intent on tasting everything on the menu.  With a bite of chocolate cake in his mouth, he pointed to the cake with his fork and mumbled, “Want some?”
She shook her head, smiling. “No thank you I already ate way too much.”
“So you graduate in two months with a double major in education and English, what are your plans after you are handed your diploma?”   He asked still talking around the bite of cake.
“I already have a job lined up in the Denver School District.  Roni, my overly clumsy friend from last night, and I signed a lease on a house near Wash Park for after we graduate. That is as far as my plan goes.”
“That sounds like a good start.  You have the basics covered, a job and a roof over your head.”  He winked at her.  He put down his fork and reached across the table, taking her small hand in his much larger one.  “Now, that we have totally gorged ourselves, or I gorged myself, you managed self-control, do you want to go to the club?  Or go sit by the pool?”
“How about a walk on the beach?”  Izzy even surprised herself with that request. She knew this may be a very dumb move, but for some reason she trusted Jeremy.
“That sounds wonderful.  I can walk off some of this meal.”  He stood and held out his hand to help her up.
She took his proffered hand.  “Wait, we need the check” That would have been embarrassing if they left without paying.  She looked around for the waitress.
Jeremy tugged her hand to get her moving.  “When I made the reservation I asked that they simply charge the meal to my room.”
Izzy pulled her hand free and searched around in her purse.  “Well, let me give you some money for my share then.”  She continued to dig in her purse in search of her cash, until he put a finger under her chin, forcing her gaze to meet his.
He looked amused.  “I believe I asked you out on this date, therefore it is my treat.”  He leaned in and brushed a soft, much too quick kiss over her lips.  He stood back to full stature and pulled her from the restaurant.
~*~*~*~
Alex had planned to take Izzy to a club after dinner.  That way he could use the pretense of dancing to have his hands on her small body.  The walk along the beach was far better.
Once they hit the beach, they stopped briefly to remove their shoes, he rolled up his pants.  He looked at her quickly taking in the sun dress she had on.  Most women he dated dressed in barely there clothing.  He liked her modest sun dress better.
Walking hand in hand down the beach her hair blew in the slight breeze.  “How long are you and Derek here for?”
“For another few days.  We had business at the beginning of the week and a few more meetings here and there the rest, leaving us a little bit of time to squeeze in a mini vacation.”
“I bet you guys work hard and deserve a little vacation time.”
They had stopped to look out into the ocean.  The breeze picked up, Izzy shivered a little.  Being brought up to be a perfect gentleman, Alex shrugged out of his suit jacket, placing it around her.  Placing her in front of himself, he wrapped his arms around her and began rubbing her arms. “Better?”
“Mmmm, yes.  Thank you.”
They stood quietly for a bit.  Alex enjoyed how she felt in his arms.  She was so small that she barely came up to his chest. Izzy had leaned further back into him and he had wrapped his arms tighter around her.  She sighed, when he kissed her hair.
“I’m having a great time, Izzy.  I am so glad that the chair was open last night.”  He whispered into her hair.
“Me too.  Who knew my desperation to take off my shoes could lead to meeting a man as wonderful as you.”  She said as she turned in his arms.  She stroked his chest, leaning back in his arms a little to meet his eyes.
He couldn't stop himself from leaning down to kiss her.  The soft kiss he had taken as they left the restaurant was barely a taste.  Alex needed more this time.  His lips met hers.  His system was attached by more than the usual lust that accompanied a kiss.  No, what shot through his system was a need to keep this small woman forever.
Luckily he had no time to ponder the need to have this woman forever, because her tongue entered his mouth.  Her tiny fingers clenching tighter into his shirt, bringing his body closer to her own.
He rubbed his hand up and down her back, then coming to rest on her hip bones.  They kissed and caressed for moments or hours, he had no idea.  He had never enjoyed kissing a woman so much.  Usually he only kissed a woman long enough to get her turned on enough to take her clothes off.  Not that he didn't want to get down and dirty with Izzy, he planned to.  However, Alex preferred to take his time with her.  Enjoy the slow burn caused by making out on a beach.
She pulled back.  Her eyes glazed over, a sexy smile across her face.  “You’re very good at that.”
“I’m good at a lot of things, just wait.” He nuzzled her neck a little before looking into her eyes again.
She bit her bottom lip. He could tell she was mulling over her next move.  He decided to give her time.  Keeping his hands on her hips, not wanting to break the connection between them.  Alex hoped they would be moving this kissing session to one of their hotel rooms.

Unfortunately, Izzy thought different.  With a shake of her head and a roll of her eyes, she padded his chest gently.  “I think it is time we call it a night."

Cover Reveal - "Frenemies With Benefits'

Happy Saturday!  Wow what a whirl wind of a month!  Between school assignments requiring costumes and Halloween coming up I have been a sewing demon getting the boys ready for all of their school projects and looking great for Halloween.

I have also spent a lot of the month clicking away on my keyboard, finishing 'Frenemies With Benefits'.  I am on track to release the book mid November.  Writing Alex and Izzy's story has been a fun challenge.

Next Saturday, I plan to release chapter one on my blog so stay tuned for that.  For now you will have to settle for the cover for the new novel.

Have a great weekend!

Break Over

Wow! What a whirlwind of a week.  The kids going back to school is exhausting for moms :) Every night has been met with a need for more school supplies, including a trumpet that had to be rented by the next day.

I took a break from Izzy and Alex these past two weeks.  I couldn't "see" how a plot point should carry on...I guess you could say writer's block kicked in big time.  I think I have finally figured out the point I was stuck on.

My goal is to have "Frenemies With Benefits" published on Amazon by the end of October or first week of November.  I am committed to meeting that goal.

Time for all of us to grab a drink and relax!  Enjoy your weekend.

I hope everyone is having a very lazy Sunday in preparation for the long work week.  If you are anything like me, you are counting down to the start of football season!  Only a few weeks left until we get to see men in tight pants grace the field...at least for preseason.

I have been working hard on book 2 of the Geek to Chic series, halfway done! Whoo Hoo!  The big announcement for the week is that I finally figured out the perfect title while working on one of the chapters.
Drum roll, please!  Izzy and Alex's story is officially title "Frenemies With Benefits."  I'll let you take your own meaning from that title!

Enjoy your week! :)
